How do I take a screen shot?
Often times a screen shot is the best way to convey a problem you may find with your site. Please try to follow the instructions below to take a screen shot.
Please use the "PrtScn" key on your keyboard to take a screen shot of what is being displayed on your screen. There is a different process for each keyboard that allows you to take a screen shot, but on my keyboard, you can take a screen shot by following these steps:
- Display the screen you want to take a snapshot of what is on your monitor
- Turn off "function lock" on your keyboard
- Push the key that says PrtScn / SysRq
- An image of your screen is now saved on your clipboard. You now need to paste it and save it.
- Open MS Paint (Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Paint)
- If you do not have the "Paint" program, you can use other programs like Word. The important thing is to paste the screen shot into a document so it can be saved and emailed.
- When pasting screenshots into other programs, please make sure you or the program does not inadvertly resize the image in a way that changes the aspect ratio or distorts the image.
- Click Edit -> Paste
- Save the document as a .JPEG
