Why don't I see the latest changes?

Your browser can fool you.  It can sometimes show you old versions of web pages.  This can be a problem when clients of ours browse to a page and are expecting to see a change made by CNS.  To make sure you are seeing the most recent version of a given page, please follow these steps.

1.  Adjust your browser's settings

If you're using Internet Explorer 6
  1. Click Tools -> Internet Options
  2. Under the "Temporary Internet files" header, click "Settings..."
  3. Check the radio button that says "Every visit to the page"
  4. Under the "Temporary Internet files folder", move the slider so that amount of disk space to use is set at 1MB.
  5. Click "OK" to close out the "Settings" window
  6. Click "OK" again to close out the "Internet Options" window
  7. Close all instances of Internet Explorer that you may have open
If you are using Safari

Safari actually does not allow you to change your settings so that the latest page is loaded every time.  Look at the instructions below entitled "Clear your cache".

If you are using a different browser

Please consult the documentation for the browser you use.  Look for what they have to say about issues like "saving content", "browser acceleration", "caching", etc.  Your goal is to make sure that your browser is pulling content down from the Internet and not supplying you content that it previously stored on your computer's hard drive.

The above steps need only be followed once per computer.  Once you apply these changes, they will be applied to all future browsing sessions using Internet Explorer.

2.  Clear your cache
