Why do I have 2 usernames?

You have 2 logins

It is important to realize that, when you become a client with CNS, you are (eventually) provided with two separate logins.

  • You will be given one login that provides you with access to our site and most importantly Tracker: this is your "cnsusa.com login"
  • You will be given a second login that provides you with full administrative access to your site: this is your "my-site login"

Because all of our websites function from the same core of code, it is possible for you to be logged in to your site using your "cnsusa.com login" and not your "my-site login".  This actually happens fairly often and can be a major source of confusion.

How can I tell if I'm using the wrong login

If you are browsing through your site and you can see that you are logged in, but you cannot see the CMS control panel or you cannot gain access to pages you swear were there previously, you are probably logged in to your site using your "cnsusa.com login".

Or perhaps you can't access www.cnsusa.com/tracker?

In that case, it is likely that you are logged into cnsusa.com using your "my-site login".  You should use your cnsusa.com login to access Tracker.

What to do

If you're having trouble accessing your own site, you need to logout and login again making sure to use your "my-site login".

  1. Go to your site
    • If your site has not launched yet, you'll go to http://mydomain.cnsusa.com where "mydomain" is the subdomain that we have provided for your site's staging area.
    • If your site has launched, go to your domain as normal, e.g. http://www.cnsusa.com.
  2. Logout
  3. Browse to the home page
  4. Click login
    • If you have forgotten your password, use the "Send my password" button on the login screen to have your login and password emailed to you

If you logged in correctly, you should now see the CMS Control Panel when viewing your site.

If you're having trouble accessing Tracker ...

  1. Go to www.cnsusa.com
  2. Logout
  3. Browse back to the home page: www.cnsusa.com
  4. Click login
    • If you have forgotten your password, use the "Send my password" button on the login screen to have your login and password emailed to you
