Guide to viewing and responding to tasks

After viewing the main Tracker page (more info here) and choosing to view a specific Tracker task, you'll be shown something similar to this screen shot:

  1. The name of the task appears at the very top
  2. Below that is some administrative information about this task.  Information such as the estimate and priority level, etc. will be listed here.
  3. Next is the list of subscribers.  For more information, click here.
  4. Next is the log of all the messages that have been posted for this task.  The messages are listed in chronological order starting with the oldest message.
    1. Note that the most recent correspondence will be at the very bottom

How do I post a message?

There are many ways for you to post a new message.

  1. You can click the "New Message" button that is found at the very top and very bottom of each task.
  2. Or you can click any of the "Reply" buttons that accompany each message that is posted in Tracker.
  3. Note that clicking "New Message" or "Reply" will open the "Content Editor" window which you can then use to compose your message.  For more information on the content editor, click here and look at section #3.

Can I post files or attachments?

Yes, you can.  Whenever you compose a new Tracker message, you should see an area like this one below the message editor window:

  1. Fill in whatever name you'd like in the title.  You do not need to match the title here with the actual title of the file you're attaching. 
    1. For example, if you are attaching a photo, you might type "Photo I'd like to use" for the title.  Or, if for example, you are attaching a PDF version of your organizatin's logo, you might type "My logo" in the title.
  2. Then click the "Browse..." button and select the file you want to upload from your computer's hard drive.
    1. Note that you can attach all types of graphics files (.jpg, .gif, .png, etc.) or other types of files (.pdf files, Microscoft Word or Excel documents, etc.).
  3. That's all there is to it.  After you've composed your message using the content editor and/or attached a file, press submit.

Can I edit past messages I posted in Tracker?

Yes, you can.  Any message that was composed by you will have either an "Edit" or "Annotate" button found above the content of the message.  Simply click "Edit" or "Annotate" and the content editor will open and be pre-filled with the content you already posted.  You can then edit or augment as needed.
