Hello [FirstName],
The Content Editor
What's the latest at CNS? Well, it's really not that new at all. It's the Content Editor. The Content Editor is the tool that you all can use to edit the contents of your site. While it's no Dreamweaver, it can be a powerful tool. In fact, I'm using it to write this email. I used tables to create the spatial layout containing a top header bar, a left column and this area where I am placing the body of this mailer.
Each and every item that is created on your site using the CMS can have "contents". This includes products, photo gallery images and of course web pages. When creating or editing items on your site, you'll inevitably come across a screen that says "Edit the contents of this item". That is where you can use the Content Editor to enter free-form information regarding that item. The creation of tables, insertion of images and addition of text is all at your fingertips.
There is a new section in our Knowledge Base all about the Content Editor (click here to see it). It is a bit light at this point, but it will be fleshed out in time.
The Content Editor Manual
The Content Editor Manual (click here to download) provides information on all the tools that are available to you when editing the contents of an item. I highly recommend downloading it and looking it over. Keep it at arm's reach so that you can use it as a reference whenever you are creating or editing the contents of your site.
Using the Content Editor on a Mac
Up until recently, the Content Editor could not be used on a Mac. Our team recently developed a document that shows you how to set up Firefox on your Mac so that you can then use the Content Editor. Click here to read the document and start editing contents on your Mac! |
